There is no bad month to visit Agadir. There are only months that are better for certain things. The right time depends on what you want to do: swim in warm water, surf big waves, or explore the valleys and markets in comfortable heat.
Best time for a beach holiday: June to October
If you want warm water and long, dry beach days, come between June and October. The sea reaches 20°C in June and peaks at around 22°C in August and September. Afternoons are 26–28°C, rain is almost unheard of, and the sea breeze keeps it from getting too hot.
July and August are the busiest months, with Moroccan families on holiday. For the same weather with fewer people, choose September.
Best time for surfing: October to April
Between October and April, storms in the North Atlantic send long swells down the Moroccan coast. This is when the point breaks of Taghazout and the long right of Imsouane work best.
October and November are a sweet spot, with good swell and water still around 20°C. December to February bring the biggest waves, but the water drops to 17°C, so a 4/3 wetsuit is needed. Beginners are better off in summer or in the sheltered bays.
Best time for sightseeing and day trips: March to May
Spring is the season for exploring. Afternoons are around 23°C, the hills are green after the winter rain, and Paradise Valley has its fullest pools. It’s comfortable to walk around Souk El Had or up to the Kasbah all day.
Best time for winter sun: December to February
Agadir is one of the warmest places within a short flight of Europe in winter. Days are sunny and around 20°C, perfect for walking and eating outside. Just bring a warm layer: nights drop to 8°C.
